Victoria is playing a lot of younger players right now; kept it close until the 3rd period.

Bigger defenseman who shows all-around good play on defense and offense, including power play and penalty kill. Able to break up plays on defense. Had an assist in the game. Headed to Miami (OH) in 2026-27. Scoring well this year and so could get some later round consideration in the draft after being bypassed last year. 23-4-14-18 so far.

Nolan Stewart Victoria Royals 12-Jan-08 5-10 168 RW (2026 Eligible, CS W)
Stewart is not large but shows good speed and agility. Able to accelerate quickly and had a solo rush late in the game and scored. Willing to go into corners and behind net to contest for pucks. 23-4-11-15 this year after 61-12-11-23 last year.

Mikola Kosarev Victoria Royals 24-Oct-07 6-0 192 LD (2026 Eligible, CS -)
Kosarev made some good plays on defense (played a 2 on 1 well) but was also caught high a couple of times. Plays point on the power play. Took a penalty behind his own net. Eligible for 2026 draft but not rated by Central Scouting. Import from Ukraine who is new to the WHL this year. May need some more development next year to get consideration for a draft slot. 19-0-1-1 this year.

Speedy winger who is always in the play and can be dangerous. Willing to contest for pucks also. Fast and agile and able to carry the puck; scored a goal during the game. Still developing but shows promise for the 2027 draft. 23-5-4-9 this year.

Jacob Schwartz Victoria Royals 6-Jun-09 5-8 162 LC (2027 Eligible)
Had a quiet game and did not dent the score sheet. Good speed and was a high pick for Victoria in the 2024 draft. Will see how he develops this year and next. 17-1-1-2 so far this year.

Odin Vauhkonen Victoria Royals 16-Sep-08 6-0 189 LD (2027 Eligible)
California import with good size who showed well on defense; on one play guided puck carrier to edge and broke up the play. Good handling and passing ability and plays on the power play and penalty kill. Missed 2026 draft by one day so has an extra year to develop. 22-2-5-7 this year.
